I’ve grown up on a working farm in Western Australia, surrounded by cattle and horses my entire life. From western showing to breeding and working stock, this lifestyle is part of who I am — and always has been.

The Story

I was pretty much born into it — my first horse rides were with my dad when I was just 3 weeks old, strapped to him in a carrier.

I started western riding at 8 years old on my mum’s Appaloosa, competing at local shows. Not long after, I leased an Appaloosa gelding named Charlie, who I later bought — and still show today.

I love the designs, colours and practicality of Double R gear. It works just as well for long days on the farm as it does in the show arena.

What’s on the horizon

This year I’m heading over east to Dubbo to compete at the Australian Appaloosa Association National Show.

My goal is to do well, enjoy the experience, and hopefully come home with my first Nationals buckle.

My Appaloosa gelding and main show horse. We compete in western pleasure and halter, but he also loves bush rides and beach trips.

Spirit
A performance Quarter Horse we bred here on the farm. He’s only been started in the last couple of years, and I do a bit of everything with him. I’m hoping to step into barrels and ranch work with him this year.

Morning Person or Night Owl?

I usually work my horses in the late afternoon before the sun goes down, but mornings are for feeding, rugs and getting everything sorted for the day.
