I’m based in Rockhampton, Queensland and compete in barrel racing. My journey back into horses hasn’t been a straight line, but it’s taken me further than I ever expected — and I’m only just getting started.

The Story

I grew up around horses with my uncle cutting, but after about 10 years away, I got back into horses just for pleasure.

After an accident where I thought I’d never ride again, I found my way back — and with a bit of encouragement from friends, I gave barrel racing a go. I was instantly hooked, and it’s since taken me all the way to America and Canada.

I love the focus Double R has on positivity, horsemanship and sportsmanship — it’s something that really aligns with how I approach riding.

What’s on the horizon

This year I’m stepping into my first rodeo and aiming to compete at ABHA Nationals, as well as getting back to NBHA Nationals. On a personal level, I’m focused on growing as a competitor, with clinics playing a big role in that progression.

Not my personal horse, but I’ll be jockeying him through his first futurity year, which is incredibly exciting.

Grace & Goose
Two 4-year-old half siblings. Grace was meant to be mine… but it looks like my husband has claimed her for his rope horses 🤦‍♀️

Billy
A yearling I bred from my retired paint mare Kirra — he’ll be out doing halter shows this year.

Billy’s mum and the reason I got back into horses. She’s kept me safe and helped me find my confidence again — she’s something special.
