I’m based in Broken Hill and spend most of my time showing my stock horses across ag shows, Royals and western events. I’m always looking to step into new areas, with a big focus this year on getting into more cow events like campdrafting and team penning.

The Story

My introduction to the western lifestyle started young, being around horses and heading to local events with my family.

I fell in love with the atmosphere, the gear, and the sense of community. Growing up in a small rural town, it’s just something that comes naturally — and what started as curiosity quickly turned into a real passion.

I choose Double R Western because the quality is always reliable and the gear just feels right from the moment you put it on.

It has that classic western look I love, but it’s also practical and built to last. It’s gear you can trust whether you’re riding, working, or just living the lifestyle — and I love the colours and styles available.

What’s on the horizon

This year I want to attend more ag shows and western events, head to Adelaide Royal, and step further into cow work through events and clinics.

In the Saddle with Kayelene

Horse Power

My 5-year-old black Stock Horse mare
She’s my main show horse and does a bit of everything. She loves chasing cows and is just an all-round easy horse to have and work with.

My young horse (turning 3 this year)
He’s just been started under saddle and is currently having a spell before coming back in to start his show journey this year.

I also have two Brumbies that I use in my weekend business, Equine Assisted Therapy — and they get all the love they can take.

Lollies — I’ve definitely got a sweet tooth. And of course, horse treats are a must too.

Morning Person or Night Owl?

A bit of both — weekdays I’m a night owl, but weekends I’m up early.

Something Most People Wouldn’t Know

I’m actually a really shy person and have struggled with confidence most of my life. That’s why I’m so passionate about helping others going through the same thing — I just love supporting people however I can.

Pink Gingham Ruffle Shirt

I love anything pink, but this one is my absolute favourite. It’s comfortable, fits perfectly, and the ruffles do a great job of hiding those extra Christmas lunch rolls. It’s cute, practical, and always makes me feel confident.
